Hello Empower Network!
It’s Dave Wood talking to you here from my home office in Escazu, Costa Rica with an exciting affiliate update. A lot has happened fast in the last week and there are some important commission generating information I want to get into your hands so you can capitalize on the momentum wave we’re creating. These updates are going to be a regular process we follow to make sure that we keep you posted as important changes are happening so what we’re doing is always transparent.
For those of you who weren’t at our event in Dallas Texas and haven’t heard the news, I made some changes here inside the Corporation about two weeks ago where I decided that it was time to lead the company again the way I did when it was started. I stepped in and did a radical reorganization of the corporate structure because I believe that to create what we, the people of Empower Network want to create it requires leadership that is with it’s entirety focused on the mission I had a vision to start this company to create.
And what is the vision this company was created to serve?
Changing the world by helping the people we serve create their dream lifestyle – we exist to help you create a business while having a life at the same time.
Our company exists to serve that purpose.
Our products exist to serve that purpose.
Our opportunity exists to serve that purpose.
Our corporate structure exists to serve that purpose as well.
The other week I was with my brother William Wood and our Chief Marketing Badass Rob in my Penthouse Suite in Dallas Texas as my brother was helping me step back into the place I was at as I started this company in 2011. Interestingly enough the same place I started it is exactly where I’ve decided to return – directing the vision and actionable steps of the entire company to be vision focused.
That’s how I started. That’s where I’ve decided to stay.
Over the years I’ve learned incredible business lessons – some of them positive and some of them not, that all lead me to one simple conclusion:
Nobody else was given my vision.
It is my responsibility to create it exactly as it exists in my heart. When I’ve done that we’ve accomplished incredible results together and over the last few years that has resulted in over 195 million dollars in sales in 216 countries. Truly nobody online has ever accomplished anything like what we’ve done at Empower Network. And that is because of our vision and who we are.
I’ll come back to that vision in a minute, let’s talk updates:
Major Update #1:
First, I reorganized the Leadership Council at Empower Network and changed the name to be more congruent with what it is — which is a mastermind of unified leadership with the intention of pooling our creative resources towards the aim of creating our vision. So what’s the new name?
The Legacy Mastermind—a mastermind with the purpose of creating a legacy by co-creating our vision in a way that’s congruent with who we are. The Legacy Mastermind is an invite only team comprised of myself, Lawrence Tam, Tracey Walker, Michael Martin, Jon Ochs, and Rui Gabriel and they spent the entire event weekend and 18 hours on Monday helping create all of the announcements that I have today.
Let’s move on to updates at corporate.
Major Update #2:
I reorganized the executive structure in Empower Network and have now stepped into the role of Chief Executive Badass. Think of it like a CEO type role, except with the word ‘badass’ in it :-) What I’ll be doing is leading the direction of the company and the field creating systems, checks and balances, strategic visioning and planning, working with financial data to make decisions, and organizing Key structures inside the company.
Sandy Viquez is my Noble Assistant Badass. She makes sure I show up to stuff, keeps my personal schedule, and is my ‘people screen’ having a strange almost supernatural ability to intuitively protect me from harmful people. She makes sure I stick to the processes I have in place to get stuff done.
Rob Rammuny is our Chief Marketing Badass. I can’t say enough good things about Rob and his ability to Execute marketing processes that get results. Not only did he make his first million dollars at the age of 18, he currently runs his own company with over 90 employees that does $3 – $5 million per month in revenue. He’s here because he loves me, loves you, and loves the vision.
Darren Hanser is our Raw Food Copywriting Badass. Speaking the voice of the people requires a man with heart writing the copy that we send to create sales and attract the right audience. Darren has worked with me now for six years and originally was in my first MLM companies I started online before the existence of Empower Network. He is here because he loves the people, loves me, and loves the vision.
Vanessa Gillette is our Social Media Badass. I decided to restructure our entire communications system to be focused on activities that help create our vision, which means… that all of our social media communication is going to be focused on things that help you create more sales in less time. She is going to be heading up the promotion of our content strategy we’re launching August 8th (more news to come)
Sven is our Lord of Technology Badass. I’ll have a tech report a little bit later in this update and for now I’ll tell you that nearly every outstanding technology issue that we’ve had for the last six months has been fixed and rewritten in the last 10 days – much of it from scratch. Sven was the coder that helped me originate and launch Empower Network and while working with him our shit has always worked and gotten done on time.
Tera Mangan is our Project Execution Badass. She is going to be managing the assignment, execution, and follow through across the various projects we’re creating inside of our internal team to make sure that all of the things people are working on in various departments are getting done on time by the right people.
Lisa Soto is our Merchant Badass. She keeps our relationships with our valued merchant providers by managing refunds, chargebacks, and systems to make sure we continue to create results that help the vision impact our customers, affiliates, and employees.
Nicole Mcclain is our Social Compliance Badass. She helps us create a safe and lasting environment for the people we serve by making sure what we do is following laws and our internal compliance rules to protect the future for everyone.
Brian Wills is our Compliance Officer Badass. Brian helps us create profitability and a future by making sure that we are protecting our affiliates against people who aren’t following laws and regulations.
Zach Forsch is our Customer WOW Badass. Zach helps our customers and affiliates create their dreams by providing customer service solutions that help them get the results that they want.
Nik Wyland is our Commission Badass. Nik works with Zach to bring a WOW experience to our customers. He specifically helps create the vision by specializing in affiliate issues relating to our commission structures (and kicks butt at it, too)
Bonnie Skifstad is our Happy Event Badass. Bonnie organizes events, negotiates with contractors, finds locations and hotels, and manages all of the teams related to creating a magical event experiences that help manifest the vision.
Kevin Thompson is our MLM Law Badass. He makes sure that our compliance and internal team are aware of current FTC regulations and have policies, procedures, and compliance in place to protect our future and help us continue to serve the marketplace so we have the ability to create our vision.
Rob Berkowitz is our Internet Law Badass. He creates our contracts and agreements with essential service providers, advises us on intellectual property law, and makes sure that we are protected and make decisions that will help us create our long term vision by staying in compliance with internet regulations.
William Wood is our Transformation Wizard. Since he doesn’t like the internal representation of ‘badass’ and is a sort of magical creature, we chose the term ‘wizard’ instead. He is part of our strategic thinking mastermind, helps plan and create transformational training products, and helps mastermind solutions to help our people step into the vision they want to create through his proprietary personal change processes.
Brett Reed is our Accounting Chief Badbutt. Brett and Marc are Mormons so we respect them by refraining from profanity in their titles. Brett helps create the vision by overseeing strategic financial planning, decisions, and helping create accounting systems that have checks and balances to create a stable environment. Brett and Marc manage accounting systems for billions of dollars in revenue.
Marc Andus is our Cash Flow Badbutt. Marc helps create the vision by closely monitoring our financial controls, implements accounting systems, participates in strategic thinking, weekly financial reviews with key executives including David Wood, and makes sure people get paid what they’re promised on time as we’re operating within our financial constraints. Marc’s decisions are accountable to Brett Reed and David Wood.
Judy Schad is our Human Resource Badass. She helps create the vision by managing key HR needs and working with Marc and Brett to implement internal financial systems, payroll for employees, and also helps with employee systems and procedures.
That is the new organization of our corporate structure. Our team is not perfect but they love the affiliates and are here to serve you by helping create our vision in a way that is congruent with who we are and why we are here. I wanted to wait to make a public announcement outside of our event because that would give me the opportunity to demonstrate the competence of the team and the corporate structure that we have in place. I wanted to show you that we can get shit done!
Now this is important because after covering these updates I’m going to talk through the marketing plan and walk you through what we’re going to do together on a daily basis — starting August 8th on our release date. I’ll also talk about what happens between now and then.
So here’s some of the stuff we’ve gotten done since July 16th when I reorganized the corporation (yes, on a Saturday):
What We’ve Gotten Done
First, we’ve clarified the roles across the entire corporation, created a project management system from scratch, clarified the direction of every department internal to the company as it relates to our vision, and created detailed written outcomes and plans for every part of the company including sales funnels, social media, technology development, marketing, events, ongoing affiliate training, international expansion and much more.
We have written over 200 pages of documents that range from our internal structure and reporting system to our entire sales funnel word for word which we’ve remade from the ground up — more on that in a minute.
In tech, we’ve fixed nearly every major issue affecting customer experience, purchasing, billing, and ordering. We wanted to get the things done first that are directly related to your ability to purchase, get sales, get more sales, and keep customers around so you can create the business and lifestyle of your dreams. We also re-wrote the entire code base integrating Kalatu Cloud and fixed all of the customer experience issues inside of the system and now every part of our tools automation product works the way that it should.
In addition to that we’ve planned and structured the entire funnel inside of our system to work with resources we have right now that are getting results – in other words the new people you’re bringing into your business are going to experience a seamless flow as they come through the sales and new member education process, which brings me to the most exciting part of our update today, which is:
What’s happening August 8th?
At our RISE event in Dallas Texas we got together with our Legacy Mastermind with our written vision in front of us and began brainstorming how we’re going to create that. I’ve been reading a book called “The Theory of Constraints” by Eliyahu M. Goldratt over the last while and without getting into a lot of detail which I’ll cover in a future blog post, Eliyahu talks about creating decision boundaries based on resource constraints inside of a company. The constraints we created with the Legacy Mastermind for creating a plan were the following:
Our outcome is to help you create a lifestyle business both immediately from the time we implement our game plan and long term as we grow.
Whatever we create must not involve any major technical changes so it can be implemented in a period of time not exceeding two weeks.
Whatever we implement must eliminate all confusion inside of our community and give our entire team a concise, clear plan of action of exactly how to get results.
Our daily, weekly, and monthly action plan must work with a part time person and also with the full time person with the ability to complete every actionable assignment in one hour per day or less.
Our entire messaging must be simple and unified with a clear outcome of every part of our process that can be tested, tracked, and improved, and finally:
We are not going to test anything not proven already to work while we get a process in place that’s creating momentum and you won’t know about anything we’re testing in the background until we know it already works through testing.
These six constraints entirely focused on helping you create consistent results that could be implemented by August 8th 2016 led to a simple series of questions:
Question #1: What are ALL of the parts of our system that work right now and create measurable financial results for our community?
Question #2: Where is there redundancy inside of our system that only leads to frustration and overwhelm that can be eliminated or reframed to create a simple, seamless flow for our new and existing members?
Question #3: Within the parts of our system that work what needs to be reframed either through language or process in order to make what we’re doing simple and congruent all the way through?
Question #4: What are the actionable steps and assignments for every person inside of our organization that will result in us being able to execute on this entire plan no later than August 8th?
Question #5: How can we take this plan and leverage it to create a powerful transformation in the marketplace and make the world a better place everywhere we touch it?
These five questions led to one possible solution that can get you maximum results in the least period of time, which is to take all of the parts of our system that work and re-frame them to create seamless flow and complete congruence of experience — and we immediately got to work implementing the game plan.
The parts of our existing system that work are creating social traffic through blogging, the Total Shortcut Funnel, the iPas Fast Start Process, and the Core Training as part of a cultural training process and we could reframe the entire process to be congruent in one seamless flow in less than two weeks.
In addition we have a great tools product and the three products inside of the Max Performance Mastercourse that need product based sales messaging so we can scale traffic and advertising in a way that helps you all create leveraged, powerful results.
The week following the event I travelled to Saint Petersburg Florida to work with the staff and execute on the plan with our video team and over the next week we reframed over 100 written pages of sales and culture processes inside of our system, made minor technical modifications, outlined a large scale traffic plan and filmed the entire sequence – and this isn’t just my best work — what you’re going to see released on August 8th puts my previous best work on sales processes and makes them look like child’s play.
If you thought you were getting commissions before… You weren’t. Think about your previous commission getting and add batman juice to it. More on that in a minute.

Understand that’s not just a Trailer – our entire sales process has been refilmed that I’m going to describe next looks that good all the way through and includes every part of our sales and upsell process. #1 – Operation Social Momentum. OSM is a traffic strategy that’s using all of the best parts of our content system in a way that works well with social media like Facebook and Twitter, is attractive all across every communication medium, works with email traffic and will help you by giving you new, daily content Monday through Friday at 9am EST – created by myself and our Social Media Badass, Vanessa.
#2 – The Total Shortcut System – The Total Shortcut sales funnel works better than any process we’ve produced, ever, to bring in new members but it’s had some congruence and language framing problems we’ve now reframed and resolved. We’ll be releasing a new version that is going to attract the people you want to attract in your business so you can get better results, while retaining the same structure that gets sales. Both Michael Martin and Jon Ochs are currently getting 3% conversions in the Total Shortcut Funnel after we fixed some technical glitches hindering some sales.
#3 – The Internet Profits Acceleration Training – The iPas process we’ve used works but it’s confusing having multiple brand names and the messaging is not congruent with the rest of our process. So we rescripted the entire series to be congruent, attract professional people, work with our front end system and we’re tanking the name iPas and now it is going to be simply the place we keep our marketing links, tracking software, and training to help you accelerate your profits when you start your business online. Think of this like a better name for a “Fast Start” training. Your new members are going to be directed to a welcome video that pre-frames this training and automatically redirected to it after buying through the Total Shortcut Funnel.
#4 – CORE Training – The current Empower Network CORE training works to create culture, but isn’t really a Fast Start Training so it’s being renamed and to CORE Training and will follow the completion of the Acceleration Training for new members. I’ve included a bridge introduction into the current series to make them congruent.
#5 – Max Performance Mastercourse Webinar Funnel – We’re in the process of developing product based sales materials from the three products created by William Wood because we promised product based sales materials and the content is excellent. We’re now launching a weekly webinar series that will promote into the Max Performance Mastercourse from a product based approach. This has already started and our goal is to sell this through retargeting content traffic and our Daily Action Plan, which leads me to the most exciting announcement:
#6 – Your Daily Action Plan – What I just covered is a lot and our motto is ‘complex for us, simple for them.’ If you saw the giant stack with all the bullet points of our game plan it would be overwhelming to look at, but for your experience we’re releasing a simple Daily Action Plan with new assignments five days per week at 9am EST. You’ll get this assignment in the Members Area and also by email and we’ll post an update on social media, and it will take you less than an hour to complete. This will include an audience building strategy, Facebook swipe, Twitter swipe, Email Swipe, and daily educational content that will help you get more results in your business NOW.
In other words, here’s the simple process:
First, just follow the Daily Action Plan we release Monday through Friday at 9am EST. That will help you create a list, create an audience, build rapport with your list and get sales in a step by step process – and it will be NEW each day utilizing our Social Momentum content plan.
Second, when you get sales your new members will go through the Acceleration Training which will help you get upsells.
Third, they’ll go through the CORE education and immediately start taking action with our Daily Action Plan released by 9am EST on Monday.
Fourth, we’ll help you sell more stuff :)
Fifth, you’ll get commissions from all of that more stuff that you sell.
That’s really it. Every redundant process is being removed and everything we have will work in one seamless, congruent flow so you can get sales, get more sales, earn commissions, and earn more commissions — with the outcome being that you can build a business while having a life at the same time.
What’s the best part about this new process?
Think of the trailer I showed you earlier and imagine if you had a daily show to promote [made by me] and from the very start of the blog all the way through the Total Shortcut and Acceleration Training our processed weaved together in one congruent storyline that was like watching a movie while you get commissions.
Like a Batman movie with getting commissions, if you could imagine that. A real daily process that we’re creating and giving to you to help you get results.
